Almost every month I need to get my favorite Korean food in my stomach.
I am not Korean, I do not know how to make Korean food, and I LOVE the Korean food and culture. If you live in Minnesota or just visiting Minnesota. The best place for Korean food that never disappoints me is Mirror of Korea. It's located near Hamline University or the intersection of Snelling and Englewood Ave.
My favorite dish is Bibim Neang Myun or Spicy Noodle.
I love this dish because it’s served cold and it has a hint of spiciness. Now, I love eating spicy food. The spiciness of this dish is not spicy, AT ALL! I also love the refreshing spring taste. It sort of rejuvenates me with all these of energy.
The next dish I tried out was Yukhoe!
This is something new, it was my first time trying this dish. It is fresh, frozen, and RAW BEEF! I will tell you, I am not a fan of anything raw. The presentation of the dish is beautiful, appealing, and appetizing. I tried it. It’s not as bad as I thought it would be. The thing is, the beef is a little bit frozen. When you bite into the beef it has a crunchy taste. The crunchy taste makes you forget that the beef is raw. I’m not sure what the ingredients are in the dish. But I mainly tasted sesame oil and I love the smell and taste of sesame oil.
It is a dream to visit Korea one day. I want to try out all the street foods and endless amount of seafood they have such as fresh sea cucumber, live octopus, mackerel…etc. There is so much!
If you’ve been to Korea before, what was your favorite district? Also, if you like Korean food, what is your favorite dish?
